Ministry includes people with HIV in the priority order of vaccination against Covid-19

The Ministry of Health updated the vaccination recommendations against Covid-19 and included people living with HIV / AIDS aged between 18 and 59 years in the group of comorbidities. People aged 60 or over are already included in the prioritization by age group, which precedes the group of comorbidities.

For the government, it will be possible to reduce the impact of Covid-19 in this group, especially in relation to the risk of hospitalization and death, and to respect the concept of equity in the Unified Health System (SUS).

HIV positive people with updated data in the SUS systems will have pre-registration done automatically. It will also be possible to present the prescription of antiretrovirals, exams, medical report, medical prescription, as a way of proving the condition.

The start of vaccination for the group will be informed through the National Immunization Program (PNI).
