The garbage collection professionals had been stopped since Tuesday afternoon (31) to claim the insertion of workers in priority groups for vaccination against Covid-19. The argument is that they perform essential activities, in the same measure as health professionals.
The city said it agreed with the demands of urban cleaning workers, as well as other officials in essential activities. In addition, it vaccinated frontline and direct support health workers.
The calendar is in progress with the vaccination of the people who are part of the risk group – the elderly – and the rest of the health professionals, following the guidelines of the national vaccination plan.
“We expect the municipality to make a vaccination schedule with urban cleaning professionals as a priority. The union emphasizes that it has no intention of skipping the vaccination line, but only compliance with the law and the Ministry of Health’s own recommendations, ”said the president of Sindeac, the union of the category, Antônio Roberto da Silva.
With the meeting, the city hall committed itself, in 48 hours, to hold a meetingdirect consultation with the Ministry of Health regarding the inclusion of urban cleaning professionals as health workers, members of the priority group national vaccination operational plan.
“The proposal came from the Public Ministry of Labor, which was based on the understanding of Minister Ricardo Lewandowisck of the STF, who attributed to the Ministry of Health the exclusive competence to change the order of priority in the vaccination of the subgroups among the priority groups”, explained the MPT attorney Adriana Augusta Souza who conducted the mediation hearing.
