The measure, according to the Municipal Executive, resulted in the drop, for the second consecutive day, in the general occupancy rate of the ICU Covid (SUS + Private): this Tuesday (30), the index was 97.2%, and this Wednesday it fell to 94.7%.
According to the city hall, the decrease in the rates of ICU use is due to the efforts made by the municipal administration.
“In this month alone, 265 ICU Covid beds were opened in the public network. Currently, there are 548 intensive care units, totaling the largest number of ICU beds since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, in March, 408 beds were opened of Covid infirmary, reaching 1,185 units “, he informed, in a note.
Also according to the PBH, also on Wednesday, 25 more ICU Covid beds were opened in the private network. Despite this, the city asks the population to continue maintaining preventive measures against Covid-19. “Even with the reduction, it is essential that the population continues to maintain social distance, the use of the mask and the correct hand hygiene”, he declared.
