Paes signs law that provides priority to people with disabilities in vaccination against Covid | Rio de Janeiro

The project calls for a change in the municipal vaccination calendar to include this class. Thus, from April 24, when the calendar reaches 60-year-olds, PCDs will be among the priorities in immunization.

Bill 89/2021 is authored by city councilor Márcio Ribeiro (Avante), who is also chairman of the City Council’s Committee for the Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. He stated that the project is necessary because the PCDs are part of the risk group mostly.

“We know how risky this group is. These people often do not have the condition to prevent themselves. He cannot wear a mask, he cannot control the use of his hands, many of them with diseases and comorbidities. If you get the coronavirus, you have a good chance of getting the most severe part of the disease. For this reason, the need for this project ”, said the author of the law.

The new law will be published in the Official Gazette in the edition of this Thursday (8). Councilor Márcio Ribeiro will meet with the municipal secretary of Health, Daniel Soranz, to study the best way to change the calendar.
