Accredited network Unimed-BH records a record of deaths and hospitalizations due to Covid

Last week, 78 patients hospitalized with the disease died in their own, accredited hospitals in the capital of Minas Gerais

The Unimed-BH network, which includes its own and accredited hospitals in the capital of Minas Gerais, released a bulletin that shows that the number of deaths and hospitalizations increased in the last week – between March 28 and April 3.

According to the data, 78 patients hospitalized with Covid-19 died. In the previous week, there had been 68. In addition, the network had 876 admissions of patients confirmed with the new coronavirus – the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic. In the previous week, there were 757 hospitalized with Covid-19, that is, the increase in one week was almost 16%.

Trend is general
On Monday (5), the city of Belo Horizonte reported that the occupancy rate in beds destined for the pandemic in the capital of Minas Gerais has also increased in recent days. On the 1st, when the bulletin was released earlier, the bed occupancy rate in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was 92.5% of capacity; now, it’s 98.8. In public hospitals, of the 549 beds, 100.9% are occupied. In the private network, of the 578 beds, it is 96.7%.

Regarding nursing beds, of the 2,217 in BH for Covid-19, 82.5% are occupied – compared to 81% previously.
