Bahia reached, on this second (5), the mark of 1,735,679 vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine against covid-19, according to data from the State Department of Health (Sesab).
According to the agency, so far 1,931,662 first doses have been distributed to the municipalities. With the current figures, the percentage of application in relation to the first doses made available is 89.9%.
The state has already applied the second dose to another 336,924 people. 600,220 doses were distributed, with that, the percentage of application in relation to the second doses made available is 56.1%
According to Sesab, an excess volume of doses has been observed in vials of vaccines against Covid-19, which makes it possible to use 11 and up to 12 doses in just one vial, as with other multi-dose vaccines.
The Ministry of Health has authorized the use of the excess volume, as long as it is possible to draw a full dose of 0.5 ml from a single vial. Thus, according to the State Government, some municipalities have a vaccination rate higher than 100% of the doses made available.
More than 1 million 310 thousand elderly people vaccinated
Of the 1,735,679 first doses of the vaccine, 368,296 were for health professionals. In addition, 1,312,549 elderly people over 60 years old, and from long-term care facilities, 18,632 indigenous villagers, 26,484 quilombolas, 992 people with disabilities, 6,228 chronic kidneys, 2,169 members of the security and rescue forces received the vaccine until this Monday ( 5).

Bahia registered 86 deaths and 2,073 new cases of covid-19 (growth rate of + 3.3%) in 24 hours, according to an epidemiological bulletin released by the State Health Secretariat (Sesab) in the late afternoon of Monday (5 ). In the same period, 2,068 patients were considered cured of the disease (+ 0.3%).
