Research warns that reinfection by covid increases risks of severe condition

A study released on Monday (5) by researchers from Fiocruz, Instituto D’Or and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) indicates that cases of reinfection by covid-19 may be even more dangerous for the organism than the first contamination.

According to the information, this risk is even greater in patients who had mild or moderate disease. This is because the virus (although it is not any of the new variants), can cause a severe inflammatory process in the body and trigger more aggressive symptoms.

Until then, many experts believed that reinfection was only possible from contamination by a new strain, but that thesis fell, although the variants represent a greater health risk.

The research result has not yet been reviewed, but the parameters and data are accurate and indicate that it is necessary to maintain preventive care and avoid exposure to the virus.
