The occupancy of the ICU beds in the SUS network to collapse this Monday (5/4) in Belo Horizonte. The rate is at 100.9%, according to the epidemiological and assistance bulletin. The percentage refers only to vacancies for patients with COVID-19.
According to the document, BH has 549 beds of intensive care in public hospitals. However, there is a demand for 554 patients, which was the health units placing at least five people in spaces outside the ICUs – such as nursing rooms.
The general occupancy (SUS + private network) of ICUs for patients with COVID-19 was 98.8%. Therefore, of the 1,127 vacancies of the type in the city, 1,113 are occupied by people in serious condition of the disease. Today, there are only 14 units available.
In the last few weeks, when the capital of Minas Gerais also registered a collapse of the health system, the increase in the general average was always driven by the private network. But, in this second one, the most complicated scenario is that of SUS, since the occupation of UTIs 96.7% in private hospitals.
Today, there are 19 waves of intensive care for people infected by coronavrus in the supplementary network. There are 578 in total, with a demand of 559 patients.

The good news of the day is due to the drop in the across of coronavirus in BH. The indicator fell from 1.06, registered on Thursday (1/4), to 0.99 on Monday.

On Monday, the Municipality of BH did not update the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Belo Horizonte. According to the municipal executive, this was due to “technical problems in the database” of the Ministry of Health.
Thus, PBH updated only the increase in cases: 3,129 more entered the balance, totaling 148,006. There are 3,314 deaths, 7,143 patients being monitored and 137,549 people recovered.
Until this Monday, BH vaccinated 317,235 people against COVID-19. Of these, 104,044 received the second dose.
So far, BH has received 572,270 vaccines, 521,925 of which have already been distributed. There are 486,820 from CoronaVac (Butantan / Sinovac) and 85,450 from AstraZeneca (Oxford / Fiocruz).
The city has so far vaccinated 6,533 residents and professionals in nursing homes and public therapeutic residences; 87,168 health workers; and 223,534 elderly people over 67.
