Without deaths, DF has 79% drop in total dengue cases in 2021

The Federal District registered 2,698 probable dengue cases in the eleventh epidemiological bulletin of 2021 from the Secretariat for Health Surveillance, an agency linked to the Health Secretariat (SES-DF). The number represents a drop of 78.9% when compared to the same period in 2020, when there were 12,775 notifications.

In addition, there is an increase of 10.8% in the number of probable cases, when compared to the tenth bulletin, published with 2,435 occurrences.

The North health region had the highest percentage of notifications (37.6%) in relation to the total number of cases in the DF, followed by the Southwest region (16.4%). Until the eleventh bulletin, the Department of Health confirmed 28 cases of dengue with alarm signs. There are no deaths recorded in 2021.

Among the cities with the most probable cases are Planaltina, with 521 cases, Ceilândia (296), Sobradinho 2 (246), Sobradinho (231) and Samambaia (157). Together, these five administrative regions showed 1,451 occurrences of the disease, that is, 53.8% of the total in the DF.
