Vaccines stolen in Rio’s municipal health center

Security camera footage shows a man entering the scene. Carrying a backpack, he was seen forcing a door

50 vaccines and a computer were stolen from the Professor Carlos Cruz Lima Municipal Health Center, in Colégio, in the North Zone of Rio, at dawn on Sunday (4). The Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the case.

Images from security cameras show a man entering around 4:00 am. He remained in place for about ten minutes. The suspect appears to be approximately 30 years old.

In the video, the man appears with a backpack on his back, forcing his way into the immunization room, where vaccine bottles were stored.

The vaccines taken were of the Coronavac type, which, in Brazil, is distributed by the Instituto Butantan-SP. In a statement, the Municipal Health Secretariat confirmed the theft and reported that the police had been called. An investigation was carried out on the spot. Investigations follow.
