President Jair Bolsonaro is ready to be vaccinated in Brasilia. As of this Saturday, 3, the immunizer begins to be applied to residents of the capital at the age of 66, the age of the president. Altogether, there are about 18,000 people in this age group in the Federal District and, according to the Health Secretariat of the DF, there will be 1,111 doses available for this Saturday.
For now, however, the president is not expected to be vaccinated. When giving a press conference this Saturday afternoon, the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, stated that he did not speak to the government official about the matter and that it is a “personal matter”.
Bolsonaro usually sends out diffuse signals about what he thinks about vaccination against Covid-19. Most of the time, he refuses to claim to be immunized. On some occasions, however, it indicates that it can yield to science. During a live broadcast over the internet on Thursday 1st, he stated that he will only decide what to do after “the last Brazilian” is immunized.
“What I think: I already got the virus. I think what should happen, after the last Brazilian is vaccinated, with a vaccine left, then I will decide whether to vaccinate or not. This is an example that a boss has to set ”, concluded the president. Having already contracted the coronavirus does not prevent a person from being able to be reinfected after a few months.
