Ends this Sunday (4) the state decree which restricted the circulation and part of the economic activities in Paraíba, to contain the advance of the Covid-19.

The Secretary of Health of Paraíba, Geraldo Medeiros, said this Saturday (3) to TV Mail that the numbers indicate a drop in cases and deaths caused by the disease, which allows flexibility in sectors of the economy.

This Friday (2), the Federation of Chambers of Logistics Managers of Paraíba (FCDL) stated that “trade is at the limit and no longer supports the restrictive measures that prevent the operation of establishments”.

According to the secretary, the new decree should be issued this Saturday (3), valid from Monday (5).

“In 15 days, we will have reflexes of this attitude of social restraint and, along with the progress of vaccination, we will have a decrease in cases,” said Medeiros.

The new decree was prepared based on a joint decision between the governor of Paraíba, João Azevêdo (Citizenship), and secretaries of state, during a four-hour meeting that took place this Friday (2).

As for vaccination, Medeiros stated that each week the expectation is that larger quantities of doses will arrive, which will allow vaccinating the entire public over 60 years of age and starting, in the coming days, other portions of the population.

More than 800 thousand doses have already been distributed in all 223 cities in Paraíba and more than 530 thousand have been applied. According to SES, more than 10% of the population of Paraíba is vaccinated against Covid-19.
