Former President Lula takes the second dose of vaccine against Covid-19

Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) took the second dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 this Saturday (3). Lula had received the first dose of Coronavac exactly three weeks ago, on April 13. The application of the immunizer was carried out in São Bernardo do Campo, the city where he resides, in a drive-thru post.

Lula is 75 years old, the vaccination of elderly people in this age group, between 75 and 76 years old, started on March 13. Lula, therefore, received the first dose on the first day that it was released for his age group.

As of 10 pm on Friday (2), almost 24.2 million vaccines have been applied since the beginning of the immunization program against Covid-19. In total, 18.9 million people received the first dose and 5.3 million Brazilians took both.

However, not all stadiums and municipalities have released information about the vaccination campaign in its entirety. Therefore, the number may be higher.

After the vaccination, the former president made a statement on his social networks. He stated that, even taking the second dose, it is still necessary to continue taking responsibility, using a mask and alcohol gel, in addition to avoiding crowding.

The president also spoke again about the need to pressure great world leaders to hold a meeting for a unified fight against Covid-19.

“Covid-19 is a war of nature against humanity and we need to campaign for the presidents of the most important countries in the world to come together to face the war,” said Lula, alongside former Health Minister Alexandre Padilha .

“It is necessary to humanize this vaccine. It does not have to be the good of a company, but the good of humanity,” said the former president, who also said that it is necessary to extend emergency aid, both for the poorest and for the small ones. entrepreneurs.
