The Federal District recorded a new record in daily deaths by covid-19, this Thursday (1/4), after the Health Department (SES) divulged another 121 lives lost by the disease in an interval of 24 hours. Of these, 117 were residents of the DF and four of Goiás. Only on Wednesday (3/31), 36 people died after becoming infected.

In all, the DF has more than 6,100 deaths caused by the spread of the new coronavirus. Of this total, 451 were patients from Goiás and 67 came from other states to be served in the federal capital.

According to the Epidemiological Bulletin of the Secretariat of Health, 1,318 new confirmed cases of covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 345,000 people have been infected with the disease. Of that group, 324,000 people recovered.

Among the cities, Ceilândia is the one with the most deaths: 993. In Taguatinga, 624 lives are lost. The Pilot Plan has 447 fatal cases, while Samambaia has 473.

When it comes to confirmed cases, Ceilândia is still at the top of this ranking, with more than 37 thousand positive diagnoses for covid-19. In the Plano Piloto, 33 thousand residents contracted the new coronavirus. In Taguatinga, more than 27 thousand people contracted the virus.

This Thursday, the transmission rate of the new coronavirus, in DF, was 0.91. This means that 100 people with the virus can infect 91 people.

Moving Averages

The moving average of deaths also broke a new record this Thursday, with a rate of 77.14. It is the largest since the pandemic began in the Federal District. Compared to the last 14 days, the increase is 139%.

Even without breaking a record, the moving average of cases remains high: 1504, a reduction of -9.3% in the last 14 days. On Wednesday, the rate was 1574, showing a slight drop in the number.
