With the entry of the country in the second phase of the deflation, the ban on movement between municipalities comes to an end next Monday, April 5th. Restrictions on travel to Spain, however, remain in effect. “In the next fortnight, there is no provision for limiting traffic between municipalities either at weekdays or at weekends. There is an agreement with the Kingdom of Spain to keep the borders closed – in terms of the land border – in order to avoid an increase in the pandemic and keep the situation under control. The borders will remain closed with the exceptions that have been announced ”, explained the Prime Minister.

However – and even before the lifting of restrictions on 5 April – António Costa is faced with the ban on movement between municipalities being accompanied by the possibility of traveling to the autonomous regions. In response, the Prime Minister explains that the autonomous regions make their own public health decisions and measures, while the measures announced by the Government apply only to the mainland. “That is why no prohibition is foreseen between the autonomous regions and the continent,” he summarized, rejecting the idea of ​​flaws in the decrees.
