“The Minister of Health has approved the use of a specific immunoglobulin for the treatment of infection with a new coronavirus. Covid-globulin is the first drug registered against Covid-19 of this type in the world,” they explained in a statement quoted by the Tass news agency.
According to the consortium, the drug was created based on donated plasma from recovered patients in Moscow. In total, 2.5 tons of biomaterial were used for this purpose.
Studies carried out on Covid-globulin, by the Natsimbio group, from Rostec, demonstrated that it is “safe, has no side effects and has the capacity to neutralize the virus”, they added in the note.
