Rio Grande do Sul exceeds 20 thousand deaths by Covid-19

This Thursday, Rio Grande do Sul surpassed the mark of 20 thousand deaths by Covid-19. According to the State Secretariat of Health (SES), the State today registered 327 new deaths in 110 cities, and with this data, it reaches 20,063 lives lost since the beginning of the pandemic.

Last Monday, the Rio Grande do Sul reached the range of 19 thousand deaths. In addition, today is the third consecutive day that the state has more than 300 daily death records from Covid-19.

The Secretariat also reported, in the last 24 hours, 5,069 new infected with the coronavirus, in 334 municipalities in the state. With that, the State reaches a total of 850,220 confirmed cases. Of these, 808,641 have already recovered, while 21,445 are undergoing medical follow-up.

In RS, the occupancy rate of ICU beds in general is 98.6%, with 3,338 patients in 3,387 ICU beds. As of Thursday afternoon, 1,171,721 people have already received the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 and 305,307, the second application of the immunizer.
