A drugstore in Campinas was fined by the Health Surveillance for carrying out rapid testing for covid-19 by swab collection (swab-like rod) irregularly. The inspectors found that the site had no infrastructure and no authorization from the Surveillance to carry out the test. The amount of the fine will still be defined.

According to the City Hall, the pharmacy also lacked security measures to control the risk of coronavirus transmission. The agency also banned the drugstore’s pharmaceutical services room and ordered the immediate suspension of the covid test on site.

The company will still be subject to the other penalties provided for in the State Sanitary Code.

The inspection was carried out on Wednesday (31), and fined two other establishments for non-compliance with the sanitary measures determined in the Emergency Phase decree in the municipality. The complaints were made by the population through telephone 156.

In addition to the drugstore, a beauty salon was fined for being in operation and an establishment that provided physiotherapy services was fined for not having a Health Surveillance license for this activity.

Throughout the day, the Surveillance toured the neighborhoods of Jardim Proença, Centro, Jardim Santa Rita de Cássia, Chapadão, Jardim Aurélia and Jardim Novo Campos Elíseos. Snack bars, supermarkets, drugstores, gyms and beauty salons were inspected and received reports of irregular functioning in the Emergency Phase.

A round was also held in five neighborhoods to identify non-essential establishments with on-site service.

The Health Surveillance Coordination reinforces that the population can report situations that do not comply with municipal decrees and other control measures for the prevention of Covid-19 through Portal 156 (by phone or website) or through the State Reporting Channel, by calling 0800- 771 3541.
