The DGS indicates that 538 people are hospitalized, 20 fewer than on Wednesday, of which 219 are in intensive care units, from which 2 patients left in the last 24 hours.
The data also reveals that 702 people were recovered, bringing the total number to 778,912 since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, in March 2020.
Active cases in Portugal continue to record a decrease, with 26,543 recorded today (minus 121).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 16,859 deaths and 822,314 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with 26,543 cases being active this Thursday, 121 less than on Wednesday.
According to the most recent DGS data, Portugal currently has 1,696,569 people vaccinated against covid-19: 1,210,996 with the first dose and 485,573 with the second dose.
The transmissibility index (Rt) of the new coronavirus in Portugal is stable, remaining at 0.94, while the incidence has dropped to 65.3 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants, according to official data.
According to the joint bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) and the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), the Rt is 0.94 in mainland Portugal and islands, according to the last update made on Wednesday .
With regard to the incidence of new cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2, the data show that it stands at 65.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 62.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants if only the continent is considered, also of according to the last update, on Wednesday.
The incidence refers to the number of new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.
