Despite this, the document provides important information for those who intend to receive guests or celebrate the holiday away from home. The foundation warns that the recommendations, in this case, can reduce the risks, but that none of these measures is capable of totally preventing the transmission of covid-19.
“If you are going to receive guests or celebrate in another place, you will be exposed to different levels of contagion”, explains the booklet.
Anyone who has symptoms related to covid-19 or is still in the 14-day period since the first day he had the symptoms should not leave the house or receive guests on that date, regardless of having been diagnosed with the disease. The same goes for those who had contact, in the last 14 days, with someone who had the disease.
Fiocruz also recommends that people who live with someone in the risk group or are part of that group stay at home. In this case, the foundation lists in the risk group: patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic kidney disease in an advanced stage, immunosuppression caused by the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as lupus or cancer; people over 60 years of age, smokers, pregnant women, women in protection and children under 5 years of age.

Use of mask
The first recommendation is to wear a mask whenever you are not eating or drinking. It is important to have a clean bag to store the mask when eating and drinking, to keep it clean and dry. In addition, have at least one extra mask in case you need to change it, either for time of use, dirt or moisture.
Avoiding crowds is fundamental, and Fiocruz recommends a distance of at least two meters between the participants of the celebration, who should avoid handshakes and closer contacts, such as hugs and kisses.
Open and well-ventilated places should be preferred for this type of meeting, and the use of air conditioning should be avoided. Cloth towels should be replaced with paper for drying hands, and trash cans with pedals are recommended to avoid contact with the lid. It is important that alcohol gel is available, and that people wash their hands frequently with alcohol or soap.
The space must be organized so that people do not all sit together at the same table. The recommendation is that each group of people living together should sit in a separate space. Cutlery and glasses should not be shared, and it is necessary to clean your hands after touching those that are for collective use, such as jars and utensils for serving food.
