Woman diagnosed with Covid-19 and chikungunya vent after seeing the whole family sick: ‘Disturbing’ | More health

A resident of São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo, vented after being infected by Covid-19 and then by chikungunya. The clinical analysis technician Danyela de Menezes Souza, 36, reports the difficulties in facing the symptoms and seeing all family members being infected by one of the two diseases, in addition to dengue.

“Disturbing and exhausting. If it weren’t for God, I would have panicked already,” he described in an interview with G1 this Thursday (1st).

Danyela made the report when denouncing a nursery near the house where she lives, in the Parque Continental neighborhood. She believes that the place may be the focus of the mosquito Aedes aegypti, transmitter of dengue, chikungunya and zika. In addition to her and her family, neighbors were also infected.

The technician explains that the first symptoms of Covid-19 started on February 24th. She tested positive in early March, but recovered well. Her husband, on the other hand, had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for treatment. Still in March, she started to have fever, joint pain, vomiting, nausea, weakness and constant headaches.

Diagnosed with chikungunya, she will begin treatment this week. In addition to physical exhaustion, she reports the fear she felt when she saw family members getting sick. Her husband contracted Covid-19, as well as his two teenage children, who still had dengue. The youngest, only 2 years old, was also diagnosed with dengue. The parents of the technician were unable to take the test, but had symptoms.

“How to have peace in your own home? We do our part, and the municipality is not responsible for the safety of the residents, but on the contrary, it carelessly puts our lives at risk. We are in a panic”, reports the technician in relation to fear with the disease-transmitting mosquitoes.

Danyela posted an outburst on social media, and neighbors commented that they were also infected. They denounce a nearby daycare center, and claim that it has mosquito outbreaks Aedes aegypti.

In the midst of the pandemic, with the increase in cases and hospitalizations, she reports difficulties in treatment. In addition, expenses with exams meant that part of the family was unable to do certain tests, such as the youngest, who did not have confirmation if she contracted Covid-19.

Despite the scare with family members, everyone is fine, and the husband has already won Covid-19, after a hospital stay. “The last time I was at the doctor because of chikungunya, he said he had nothing to do, because the hospital was taking Covid. He told me to take the prescription drugs and take a rest. Everything is collapsing,” he concludes.

Sesau points out that, recently, the Continental Park received a ‘smoke’ to fight dengue, which traveled around 63 blocks in the neighborhood. There was also a joint effort, where 1,006 properties were visited.

The city registers 581 dengue cases [com duas mortes] and 152 confirmed cases of chikungunya [sem registro de óbitos]. In 2020, until the end of March, 50 cases of dengue and one of chikungunya were confirmed “.
