The vaccination campaign against covid-19 in the Federal District will not be interrupted during the Holy Week holiday. According to the Secretary of Health, Osnei Okumoto, the current target audience of the campaign will be able to be served at any of the vaccination points by drive-thru installed by the city.

“We have been working with drives during the weekends because it is a safer method, people can wait inside their cars”, commented Okumoto during a press conference this afternoon (3/31).

By the end of this week, the DF expects to receive another 100,000 doses of vaccines against covid-19 and expand immunization for people aged 65 and 66, in addition to including public safety professionals working on the front lines. However, according to the secretary of the Civil House, Gustavo Rocha, these new groups should not go to the posts before the expansion of the Secretariat of Health is announced.

The folder will only confirm the new target audience after receiving the doses and the indication if the consignment will be destined for the first or second dose. “It will probably start on the weekend and there are vaccines for everyone. In other words, there is no need to rush to lines and crowd, ”he commented.

The drive-thrus should also work during the weekend and, according to Okumoto, Saúde will assess the need to expand the vaccination points after receiving a new shipment.
