The Blumenau City Hall, in the Itajaí Valley, confirmed that, in five days, 10 teachers, 16 employees and 10 students from 28 educational institutions in the city had a positive result for Covid-19. The numbers correspond to the period from March 29 to April 2 and include the municipal, state and private networks.
The numbers were confirmed on Monday (5). In total, 422 teachers and students from schools and municipal, state and private daycare centers received a positive diagnosis for Covid-19 since returning to school on February 8.

According to the municipal administration, the update is made weekly. Considering also other professionals working in the area of education, the number of infected people since the beginning of the academic year was 482.
According to official data, 288 teachers were affected. The number of students who tested positive for the virus totaled 134 among children and adolescents, and the remaining employees, 60.
Teachers die on the same day
The latest survey, despite showing even a drop compared to other weeks and months, came out on the day that the city mourned the loss of two teachers from the municipal network.

The 41-year-old teacher Olga Aparecida Krause Kopak worked at a children’s education center in the Passo Manso neighborhood, and had been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since March 5.
The other victim was 57-year-old teacher Nádia Regina Zen Angellide. She was a retired servant and had been hospitalized since last Wednesday (31). In a statement, the city regretted the death of the teachers.
