A total of 508 lives lost in just 24 hours. The sad cut of Minas this Wednesday (7/4) shows how much the pandemic of the coronavrus it has taken a frightening proportion in recent days. According to data from the State Department of Health (SES-MG), the state registered 1,971 deaths in the first week of April, this is an even more worrying statistic.
The death toll had been set on Friday (2/7), when the state claimed 486 lives lost. With the exception of Monday and Tuesday (days 5 and 6/7), Minas added more than 300 deaths in 24 hours in the last days.
Incredibly, Minas had the first week of April a increase deaths of 324% over the same period in January. In relation to March – when SES-MG had already warned about the worst period of the pandemic – the increase was 100%.

In the month-to-month comparison, March registered 5,767 deaths, 54.74% more than in the 30 days of January (3,158) and 9.9% more than in February (3,505). If you keep the panorama of the last days, April may pass 10 thousand bits, more than a third of what the state has recorded so far since the pandemic began: 26,303.
The expansion of newly infected people also interferes with the state’s health system. In 24 hours, another 2,033 infected by the virus had to be admitted to public and private hospitals. The accumulated total registers 97,494 patients until this Wednesday.
No curfew
Even in this context, the government relaxed the disease prevention isolation protocol. Two of the most radical measures created by the government of Minas Gerais, through the program Conscious Mines, were suspended this Wednesday: the end of the curfew from 8 pm to 5 am and the release of meetings between family members in the cities.
Such determinations had been revoked by the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG) on Monday (5/7) and afterwards were confirmed during the meeting of the members of the Extraordinary Committee COVID-19, composed of the Secretary of State for Health, Fbio Baccharetti, by members of the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG), of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais and the Public Ministry.
The macro region of Tringulo do Sul advanced from purple wave to the red one this Wednesday. The Northern Triangle and the Montes Claros micro-region have also migrated to the more flexible protocol. In addition, the micro-regions of So Gotardo, Montes Claros / Bocaiva and Taiobeiras will migrate to the red wave.
