O Uruguay recorded on Monday, 05, 45 deaths from Covid-19, which represents a new daily record of victims of the SARS-CoV virus and raised the total number of deaths caused by the disease in the neighboring country to 1,146, according to information released by the National Emergency System (Sinae). Also according to the report published today by Sinae, 10,912 tests carried out on Monday, there were 647 positives, to which are added 1,562 corresponding to previous days and not reported due to delays in the laboratories. Thus, the total number of new contagions reaches 2,209, and the accumulated since the beginning of pandemic, a 119.958.

There are currently 24,770 active cases in the neighboring country, of which 404 patients are in UTIs. The daily report of the Uruguayan Society of Intensive Care Medicine today highlighted that there are currently 639 occupied beds out of 887 operational, that is, 72%. Of this total, 45.5% correspond to patients with Covid-19. As for vaccination, 728,225 people have already been inoculated with the first dose of Coronavac or Pfizer, while 95,791 have already received the second and completed the immunization process.
