For the first time since the end of February, the average number of transmissions per infected (Rt) of the coronavirus has returned to the green alert level in Belo Horizonte. Last did that indicator was at that level was on the 24th of that month, having fluctuated between yellow and red since then.
According to the epidemiological bulletin released by the city hall on Monday (5), the indicator is at 0.99, differently from last week, when the number was 1.06, in yellow.
The rate indicates that, today, for every 100 Belo Horizonte with Covid-19, another 99 become infected with the disease. On March 15, Rt reached its highest historical level in the capital of Minas Gerais, reaching 1.28.
On the other hand, the occupancy rate in beds for the pandemic has increased in recent days. On the 1st, the beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were 92.5% full, by the way, the percentage reached 98.8, close to collapse.
In public hospitals, of the 549 beds, 100.9% are occupied. This percentage higher than the maximum indicates that patients are admitted to unofficial units. In the private network, the situation is a little less worse: of the 578 beds, 96.7% are not vacant.
Occupation in infirmary beds is also at a maximum level of attention. Of the 2,217 spaces exclusive to coronavirus patients in BH, including public and supplementary networks, 82.5% are being used at this time. On the 1st, the last official data, the percentage was 81.
Belo Horizonte has 148,006 confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 3,314 patients died. Also according to the city hall, 317,235 people have already received the first dose of the vaccine against the disease in the city, and 104,044 the second.
