SP security forces begin to be immunized against covid-19

The active members of the security forces of the state of São Paulo – Military Police, Fire Department, Civil Police, Technical-Scientific Police, Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, Metropolitan Civil Guard, and prison officers – started to receive today (5) the first dose of covid-19 vaccine.

The application of doses occurred at the headquarters of Barro Branco Military Police Academy, in the North of the city of São Paulo. According to the state government, by April 15, all 180,000 professionals in the state’s security forces will have received the first dose of the vaccine. The immunizer used is the CoronaVac, vaccine produced by Butantan Institute.

“They are the front line, they are those who are in contact with the public, and I would like to highlight all these professionals and thank them for the effort, for the dedication, for the detachment they have made in this pandemic period”, highlighted the governor of São Paulo, João Doria.

The structure set up by the São Paulo government to immunize agents has 82 vaccination points distributed in the capital, in Greater São Paulo, Baixada Santista and in the regions of São José dos Campos, Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Bauru, São José do Rio Preto, Sorocaba , Presidente Prudente, Piracicaba and Araçatuba.

On the last 24th, the state government informed that teachers and members of the state security forces would become part of the current target audience of immunization in Sao Paulo. The vaccination of 350 thousand education professionals over the age of 47, who work in institutions from day care to high school, will begin on April 12.
