Military, civilian and federal police officers will be immunized, as well as municipal firefighters and civil guards
Public security professionals begin to receive the vaccine against Covid-19 from this Monday (5) in Sorocaba. The action will take place from 8 am to 3 pm in the 7th Battalion of the Interior Military Police (BPMI) until this Tuesday (6).
Military, civilian and federal police officers will be immunized, in addition to firefighters and municipal civil guards, that is, professionals who are active. Vaccination will be done through a drive-thru system. All who will be immunized are already scheduled by the State Government.
2,232 doses of the Oxford vaccine (AstraZeneca) will be used, which were sent by the State Government directly to the 7th Battalion, therefore, these doses will be computed to the State in the balance of applied vaccines.
At the 50th BPMI, in Itu, vaccination takes place from 5 pm to 8 pm in the City Hall Auditorium until Wednesday (7).
Municipal health departments are responsible for organizing the action and applying the vaccine to public security professionals.
Around 180 thousand doses of vaccine will be available throughout the state to agents in units of the Military Police. The objective of the measure is to avoid crowds in public health posts, where the vaccination campaign for the rest of the population continues.
The structure set up by the Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) to immunize agents includes 76 vaccination points linked to PM units. There will be 21 in the Capital – among them the APMBB (Military Police Academy of Barro Branco), in the neighborhood of Água Fria -, seven in Greater São Paulo, three in the region of São José dos Campos, seven in the region of Campinas, seven in the region from Ribeirão Preto, five in the region of Bauru, four in the region of São José do Rio Preto, six in the Baixada Santista, four in the region of Sorocaba, four in the region of Presidente Prudente, six in the region of Piracicaba and two in the region of Araçatuba.
