Average covid-19 deaths in the country retreat for the third day

Yesterday (4), Brazil recorded a decrease in the daily number of deaths from covid-19 for the third consecutive day, according to the seven-day moving average released by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). The Fiocruz survey shows that the average recorded yesterday reached 2,747, below the record of 3,117 deaths determined on April 1.ebc.gif?w=696&ssl=1

Even with the drop, the daily average of deaths is almost double that recorded a month earlier (1,353). It is also 21.6% above the number of 14 days before (2,259 deaths).

New cases

The daily number of cases, according to the seven-day moving average, presented its fourth consecutive day of falls. Yesterday, the daily average reached 64,324, 16.6% below the record of 77,129 recorded on March 27 and 12.5% ​​below 14 days earlier (73,552).

In comparison with a month before, however, when an incidence of 57,610 cases was observed, the average recorded yesterday showed an increase of 11.6%.

The seven-day moving average, released by Fiocruz, is calculated by adding the day’s records to the previous six days and dividing the result of this sum by seven. The number is different from that released by the Ministry of Health, which shows only the occurrences of a specific day.
