Medina stresses the importance of “enduring the deflation” until the summer, with no setbacks

Fernando Medina, Mayor of Lisbon, has already visited one of the terraces that reopened this morning, in the Parque das Nações area. To the journalists, he leaves votes that it is possible to “keep the cases low”, “so that this is not an opening that ends in a close” and that it can proceed to the third phase, without “the need to close a third time” until to summer.

“I came to give them a strength, at this moment that is doubtful, of whether we can endure this lack of definition until the summer,” he stresses. “I am confident that it will.”

The mayor takes the opportunity to recall the support granted, at the municipal level, to restoration, including exemption from municipal fees, support for the purchase of meals for the most deprived people and the Lisbon Protege program (consists of the distribution of non-refundable amounts for this sector ; Medina says that more than 4 thousand entities were supported, with more than 23 million euros).
