The parish priest of the Nossa Senhora da Abadia Sanctuary, in Campo Grande, ended the Holy Week celebrations by praying for those who, at the most important time of the year for Catholics, unfortunately, also face the worst moment of the new coronavirus pandemic. On this Easter Sunday (4th), Father Paulo Vital blessed the hospitals of the Capital and in front of each one, he prayed for the recovery of patients infected with the new coronavirus.
From the top of a pickup truck body, the priest also prayed for family members who lost their loved ones to the disease, and for the professionals who work on the front line to fight covid-19. Proncor, Santa Marina, Unimed, Cassems, Santa Casa, El Kadri, Hospital do Coração and Upa do Tiradentes hospitals were visited.
Last Friday of the Passion (02) the priest also visited the Regional Hospital and University Hospital, in addition to those already mentioned, carrying a cross in allusion to the suffering of Jesus Christ on his last day of life. The blessing to hospitals was broadcast on Facebook and touched the devotees.
“At this moment that we are living the blessing came to cherish those who are interned and the workers. Very handsome. I thought it was very valid that day ”, commented a 43-year-old public manager, who asked not to be identified and who also frequents the Sanctuary.
Faithful Marilza Moreira accompanied the pilgrimage and reinforces the importance of the initiative. “The priest went to pray for all the sick, but mainly for the covid patients. That was precisely the intention, in this moment of solitude, we knew how important it would be for these prayers to reach these people and their families ”, he comments.
