Vaccination against Covid-19 of public security professionals starts this Monday in SP | Sao Paulo

The vaccination plan includes federal police officers who work in São Paulo, military police, civilians, firefighters, the Scientific Police, security and prison escort agents, and municipal metropolitan civil guards.

On Friday (2) the vaccination of 68-year-olds and funeral service workers began in the state of São Paulo.

Next Monday (12) it will be the turn of 350 thousand education professionals aged 47 years or older, who work in the municipal, state and private networks, with priority for professionals in Basic Education.

The government of São Paulo launched a website for mandatory registration of these professionals. At this stage, the plan provides for the immunization of teachers, inspectors, school principals, janitors and cooks from 47 years of age.

Vaccination against Covid-19 began in Brazil on January 17, shortly after the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved the emergency use of CoronaVac, produced by the Chinese laboratory Sinovac in partnership with the Butantan Institute.

Nurse Mônica Calazans, 54, who lives in Itaquera, in the East Zone of São Paulo, was the first person, outside of clinical studies, to receive the vaccine.

The Brazilian National Immunization Program (PNI) started on January 18th, and started to be made after the distribution of the 6 million doses of CoronaVac imported already ready from China.

In the state of São Paulo, vaccination started with frontline health professionals in the fight against coronavirus, indigenous people, quilombolas and the elderly who lived in institutions, and progressed with the arrival of vaccines.

According to the State Department of Health, more than 6.4 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been administered in the state.

Of these, about 4.7 million correspond to applications of the first dose, and 1.6 million already with the second dose.
