Champion of sales in March, Fiat Strada pickup takes the lead in accumulated first quarter sales
For the first time in history, a pickup truck takes the lead in the ranking of accumulated sales in Brazil. The feat was that of Fiat Strada, which displaced the Chevrolet Onix in the first quarter by 110 cars: 28,869 against 28,759. The numbers are from Renavam. It was a surprise, as Onix had an advantage of 700 cars just two days ago.
In March, Fiat Strada came in 1st place with 10,300 sales. Chevrolet Onix was in 3rd place with 7.9 thousand, surpassed also by Hyundai Creta, that conquered the 2nd place with 8 thousand plates. Volkswagen Gol with 6,900 and Fiat Mobi with 6,700 complete the top five best sellers in 4th and 5th place, respectively.
In the accumulated sales for the quarter, the order is different. Fiat Strada and Chevrolet Onix have already opened more than 5,000 difference cars for the Hyundai HB20, which completes the podium. Then there is a difference of 4.5 thousand cars for the 4th and 5th place, the Jeep Renegade with 19,111 sales and the Chevrolet Onix Plus with 19,090. Due to the temporary stoppage in the production of several factories, the sales ranking should continue to present surprises in April.
