To be revealed in full on April 15, the vehicle is based on a concept of the same name – Santa Cruz – launched in 2015. At the time, Hyundai said it had created a pickup truck with car interior and ways of driving and practicality of a traditional pickup truck. The intention is the same with the current model.
Made in monoblock (as well as the future Ford Maverick), the model shares a platform with the Santa Fe SUV. The biggest rivals of the Santa Cruz have traditional bodies, with a positive highlight for loading loads, but a negative one for handling.
Hyundai hasn’t said much about the model, but it is known that its engine will be diversified, including a 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder unit.
