Hyundai’s anti-Toro pickup truck Santa Cruz has four images revealed by the Korean brand in the United States
Hyundai today unveiled the first four images of its unprecedented Santa Cruz pickup. In its “teaser sketch”, Hyundai defined the Santa Cruz as an “adventure sports vehicle” that will “destroy” the segments of medium-sized SUVs and pickups with bodywork on the chassis. New in the United States, where it will be produced, the pickup truck Santa Cruz is not a pioneer – it follows the same concept launched in Brazil by the Renault Oroch and Fiat Toro models.
Hyundai Santa Cruz, however, appears to be lower than Toro. Its size is more reminiscent of Oroch’s. But, of course, the images do not reveal everything. They show the front grille with the new visual language of the brand and also the name “Santa Cruz” on the back cover. The opening is conventional (at Toro, the bucket opens laterally).
According to Hyundai, Santa Cruz will have “powerful and efficient powertrain options, cutting-edge connectivity and a four-wheel drive platform”. The goal is to offer a vehicle that adapts to both urban environments and adventures. Santa Cruz will be produced in Montgomery, Alabama, USA, next summer (late June).
“The flexibility of the bucket together with the safety of the closed cabin meet the daily needs of its adventure-oriented buyers, while the powerful and efficient engines and the excellent maneuverability guarantee a pleasure to drive in urban or off-road environments. Our customers will ask themselves how they managed before purchasing one, ”said José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America.
