A Federal Savings Bank you cannot fail to notify and pay the prize winner of the Mega of the Turn 2020 in the amount of R $ 162 million, argues the Procon from Sao Paulo.

“As it is an electronic bet, there is an expectation that the bettor would at least be informed of the existence of the prize, automatically, including so that the right to information provided for in the Consumer Protection Code is respected,” said the institution.

The federal bank is based on a 1967 law, which sets a 90-day deadline for claiming premiums. This argues, points out Procon, is from a time when there was no internet, no electronic bet or the possibility of identifying the bettor.

“It is obvious that this device is re-read after the 1988 Constitution and the Consumer Protection Code”, explains Procon.

Caixa informed that the winner has the obligation to claim the prize within 90 days and that the registration made in the virtual environment has the purpose of verifying the fulfillment of the qualification of the interested party as a bettor (civil majority, resident in Brazilian national territory, CPF valid etc.) and not to locate the winners.
