Substance exchange disables 15 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19

Workers at an American laboratory that is producing two vaccines against Covid-19 confused the substances, spoiling 15 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, noticia o The New York Times.

The case took place at the Emergent BioSolutions plant in Baltimore, which is also a manufacturing partner for the AstraZeneca vaccine. US officials speak of “human error” and the American drug agency (FDA) is going to investigate.

The incident will delay the distribution of Johnson & Johnson doses in the USA. Last week, US President Joe Biden redefined the vaccination plan for his first 100 days at the White House, doubling the target and promising to deliver 200 million doses.

“We will have delivered 200 million vaccines by the hundredth day of my term,” said Biden.
