For lack of tax benefits, LG closes production in SP and goes to Manaus

A news story worried workers in the city of Taubaté – São Paulo: The LG company decided to put an end to the local production of laptops and monitors at the factory that is located in the city.

The information was given by the Metalworkers Union of Taubaté.

According to the union president, Cláudio Batista, the company opted to transfer the product assembly line to Manaus (AM).

The decision is expected to result in the dismissal of 300 workers.

The transfer will occur due to the lack of tax benefits in the state of São Paulo.

However, according to the Union, the company guarantees that it will maintain the rest of the operation in Taubaté, which houses 1,000 employees at the unit.
