O Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, said on Monday (5) to expect the country to reach the herd immunization against Covid-19 in up to four months and that, with this, the economic impact generated by the worsening of the pandemic earlier this year will be less than the verified in 2020.
“I think that this blow with the increase of the pandemic will be less, the fall will be smaller and much shorter than the previous fall, exactly because we are with mass vaccination, with all that”, said Guedes during participation in XP live.
“I hope that in three, four months we will have reached that critical point of herd immunization and that a safe return to work will happen”, he added.
The minister pointed out that the country started the year consolidating its economic recovery in V – when there is a strong and rapid recovery after a significant fall – and that, as soon as the worst of the pandemic is left behind, the government will resume its work program, with reforms and privatizations.
