At the Jeep Compass 80 Years Detail Show, as well as Renegade with Adventure Intelligence and the 80 Years Series for Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, the American brand news package came with a teaser.
This deals with the seven-seater SUV that Jeep promises to score in the second half, being a product that will allow the brand to reach more customers and establish an intermediate position between the Compass and the Grand Cherokee.
Without the Cherokee, Jeep needs a car in this empty space and for that the new product will be manufactured in Brazil to have volume, in addition to being exported to the region.
In the teaser, parts of the SUV appear, such as the seven-bar grille with stylized grilles, tapered full LED headlights, body details and two letters “ER”, which complete the product name.
As Jeep does not name its products with new things, the only name left is Commander, since Wagoneer is already being used. The reference to the 2005 SUV is more than natural, as it is a three-row jeep.
This was produced for five years and forgotten, however, in China it was revived with the Grand Commander. In this case, the Asian SUV uses the Cherokee platform, which is not the same as the Commander to be made in Goiana-PE.
With a compact platform, shared with Renegade, Compass and Toro, the new SUV will arrive with a high level of technology to make a difference, especially on products like the VW Tiguan R-Line.
In mechanics, the Jeep Commander 2022 will be born smaller than the Chinese and will have a Firefly Turbo Flex propeller with up to 185 horsepower and 27.4 kgfm, in addition to the 2.0 Multijet III diesel with 203 horsepower and 40.6 kgfm (estimated).
With all this and more nine-speed automatic transmission, more four-wheel drive with multilink suspension at the back, the Commander 2022 will be a re-reading at the height of Liberty’s brother jeep. It will have Adventure Intelligence with 4G from TIM and native Wi-Fi, among others.
