Rio – The State Department of Health of Rio (SES) reported that, until this Saturday, it had 657,139 confirmed cases and 37,629 deaths from coronavirus in the state. In the last 24 hours, 3,935 new cases were recorded and 411 deaths, what it means new death record in the state. Among the confirmed cases, 605,135 patients recovered from the disease.

The occupancy rates of the covid ward and covid ICU are 81.3% and 88.9%, respectively. The data are from the Covid-19 Monitoring Panel, updated at 5 pm by the State Health Secretariat (SES).

Meeting for new decree

Right after the inauguration of the Dr. Ricardo Cruz State Hospital, a modular unit in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense, this Saturday morning, the acting governor Cláudio Castro entered into a meeting with his entourage, to define which points will be addressed in a new decree of restrictions on coping with covid-19.

The new text should be based on the decision of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) that leaves the city halls in charge of which rules will be adopted for each region, taking into account the availability of beds and the health situation in each city. The measures will be published by the end of the day.

One of the points – still under study – is the recommendation to return to face-to-face classes with only 40% of the students’ capacity.
