Paulo Gustavo follows treatment with ‘artificial lung’, says aide

Paulo Gustavo continues with ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy in the ICU. The actor’s press office told the Twitter that the table follows as previously disclosed.

“In mechanical ventilation since Sunday (21), in Rio de Janeiro, the actor came to show signs of improvement, but due to the worsening of his clinical condition, he had to evolve to ECMO therapy”, highlighted the last statement.

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation is a technique used in people with cardiovascular or pulmonary failure. The therapy relies on the use of a pump to circulate blood through an “artificial lung” outside the body, and then return to the bloodstream.

Today, celebrities demonstrated on social networks hoping for the recovery of the actor. Regina Casé, Tatá Werneck, Mônica Martelli, Caetano Veloso and other personalities also published messages of support for the artist.

Paulo Gustavo’s father, Júlio Marcos, and her husband, Thales Bretas, also spoke after the release of the note that confirmed the worsening of the actor’s lung function.
