Depression influences the weather conditions here at Easter. Here’s the forecast

Portugal is, this weekend, under the influence of a depression centered on the Iberian Peninsula and an anticyclonic ridge located west of the Continent towards Madeira, which is expected to intensify.

Indeed, for this Easter Sunday, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) foresees partly cloudy or clear skies, temporarily increasing cloud cover in the South during the afternoon. There are also the possibility of showers and thunderstorms.

As for the wind, it will blow from the weak to moderate north quadrant, sometimes blowing hard from the east quadrant in the highlands of the North and Center until mid-morning. It is still to be expected the formation of fog or morning fog, especially on the Center coast and in the South region.

Regarding thermometers, IMPA estimates a decrease in the minimum temperature in the North and Center interior, while the maximum temperature should rise in the Center coast and in the South region, varying between 20 and 24ºC.
