Brazil passes 330 thousand dead by Covid; moving average is at 2.8 thousand | Coronavirus

Brazil registered 1,931 Covid deaths in the last 24 hours, totaling this Saturday (3) 330,297 deaths. Thereby, the moving average of deaths in the country in the last 7 days was 2,800. Compared to the 14-day average, the variation was +24%, indicating upward trend in deaths from the disease.

The figures are in the new survey of the consortium of press vehicles on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil, consolidated at 8 pm this Saturday. The balance is based on data from the state health departments.

It has already been 73 days in a row with the moving average of deaths above the thousand mark; the country now completes 187 days with this average above the 2 thousand dead per day; It’s the eighth day with the average above the 2.5 thousand mark.

The moving average in the last 7 days was 66,198. This represents a -10% variation in relation to cases registered in two weeks, which indicates trend of stability in diagnoses.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance sheet in relation to the average recorded two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by the G1 to analyze pandemic trends).

It is worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can lead to large percentage variations. Moving averages data are, in general, in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate the presentation of the data.

Data on coronavirus cases and deaths in Brazil were obtained after an unprecedented partnership between G1, O Globo, Extra, O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo and UOL, which began to work, since June 8, in a collaborative way to gather the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District (know more).
