TMZ: Rap legend rushed to hospital

TMZ reports that rap legend Earl Simmons (50), better known as DMX, has been hospitalized after an alleged overdose.

The celebrity website writes that his condition is critical after he allegedly took an overdose on Friday. He is said to have been rushed to White Plains Hospital in New York on the intensive care unit.

The admission has not been officially confirmed, but TMZ claims to have sources that DMX has had a heart attack as a result of the overdose.

The rapper is behind several big hits in the 90’s, and has several top list places behind him.

He has not lived a trouble-free life, and has served a number of times in prison – several times related to drugs. He served his sentence in 2019 at the latest, due to tax evasion.

The 50-year-old has been open about his drug abuse and among other things explained that it started when he was only 14 years old. In 2016, he was found unconscious in a parking lot. He himself explained that it was due to an asthma attack, and that it was not an overdose.

DMX has four children with ex-wife Tashera Simmons. He became engaged to his girlfriend Desiree Lindstrom in 2019. Together they have a son. DMX has a total of 15 children.
