Seven dead and 280 infected by Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in Portugal – Society

Portugal recorded, in the last 24 hours, seven more deaths and 280 confirmed cases of contagion by SARS-CoV-2, according to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

According to this Saturday’s epidemiological bulletin, there are 512 people hospitalized with covid-19, one less than on Friday and five fewer in intensive care units, where 126 patients are currently. Since September 20, 2020, when there were 511 people in the hospital with Covid-19, the number of inmates was not so low.

The number of active cases has decreased by 45, to 26,294 in the last 24 hours, plus 318 people have been reported to have recovered, to a total of 779,973, since the beginning of the pandemic.

In relation to yesterday, the national incidence level (new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days) remained at 65.6 and the transmissibility index was also fixed at 0.97.

Health authorities have fewer 30 cases under surveillance in the last 24 hours, for a total of 16 091 people.

Of the seven deaths verified in the last 24 hours, six occurred in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region and one in the North of the country.

In Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 95 new cases were confirmed, in the North there were 73, in the Algarve 48, in Centro 19 and in Alentejo 18.
