In the next two games, the Yaras faced exactly the teams that were in the dispute to keep the cup. After losing to Canada on Saturday, Brazil lost to the United States 36-7 and France 31-12.
With the result, over Brazil, France ended its participation and still had chances to be champion. It depended on the result of the last match, between Canada and the United States. The Americans, unbeaten until then, needed to win to ensure the conquest, but in case of victory of the Canadians there would be a triple tie between the three teams with five wins and one defeat and the title decision would be in the tiebreaker criteria.
In the end, Canada won the United States by 31 to 14, a difference that made the champions of the Pan American Games also win the Emirates Invitational title. The Americans were in second place with the French in third. With three wins and three losses, Brazil finished fourth with France’s second team in fifth, Japan in sixth and Kenya in eighth.
