Two women rescued from mountains in Troms

The two reported at 6 pm on Friday that they had applied for emergency bivouac in the heating shed at Kjølen due to bad weather, Troms police district reports on Twitter on Saturday morning.

Crews from Norwegian People’s Aid Tromsø tried to reach them, but had to cancel the experiment around kl. 21.15, and the two women were told to prepare for a night in the heating cabin, the police write.

Later in the night, a ski team of five people made a new attempt, and at 3.40 they arrived at the cabin. There they had to dig into the two women.

Just before six o’clock on Saturday morning, the two were brought safely down from the mountain, the police say.
