According to the Capitol Police, responsible for Congress security, a 25-year-old man identified as Noah Green advanced the car, a Nissan Sentra, towards a security barrier in front of the building. In action, he ran over two policemen.

Then the criminal got out of the car holding a knife. The security agents then fired on the man and managed to stop him.

The two policemen and the perpetrator were taken to different hospitals. Shot, the criminal died moments after the action. Later, the police confirmed that one of the two hit agents, William “Billy” Evans, did not resist his injuries and died in the hospital.

The Associated Press and CNN say, quoting police officers, that the killer even stabbed a police officer. The information has not been confirmed by the authorities, who say the investigation is still ongoing.

US investigators are investigating whether the criminal had a mental disorder or if they find any evidence as to the motivation for the attack. For this, the authorities will ask for breach of the confidentiality of man’s data on the internet and on social networks.
