He left home, in Ermesinde, in the black Audi A6, went to a rural area and approached elderly women, between 80 and 95 years old, on the street. Without getting out of the car, he passed himself off as a relative who had not seen the victims in a long time, or as an appraiser of gold pieces and asked them to see rings, earrings or other valuable pieces. He drew them out, sometimes violently, and ran away at high speed. Since January alone, GNR registered dozens of victims of this 43-year-old man who was detained in the act by the Criminal Investigation Center in Porto, Braga and Aveiro districts, after stealing two rings from a 93-year-old woman, Wednesday . This was his ‘job’, at least since January, when the first case was registered by GNR, in Vale do Sousa. Present to the judge, this Thursday afternoon, in Penafiel, he left in freedom, obliged to weekly presentations.
GNR does not rule out the existence of other victims and leaves several pieces of advice to the elderly: “Do not trust strangers, speakers and full of good intentions, do not show that you are alone at home, whenever possible write down data about strange vehicles in the area, and report all the situations you know. ”
